Nice to meet you, I’m KABETA. It’s been almost 15 years since I’ve migrated to Singapore along with my family. I’m currently studying business administration at National University of Singapore.

I have a slightly special background, where I studied Japanese at a supplementary school while commuting to a local school in Singapore. I’ve also taken up Japanese as my O-level subjects and scored an A1.

Regarding my lessons, I would like to teach with Japanese as the pivot, while utilizing English and conversational Mandarin to assist in the learning. I’m going for lessons that are easy to understand and to grasp the concept. I will also be flexible in my teaching methods till you are able to comprehend fully.

I welcome those who want to try learning Japanese, worried about only learning in Japanese and those who wants to enjoy anime’s without subtitles. Please just call out for me, I’ll be more than happy to assist. I’m also readily available for examination such as the O-levels and JLPT.
I’m do not only teach Japanese, I’m also a fan of my country, language, and culture. Can’t help to indulge into Japanese foods and sightseeing in Japan. I believe it’s great to study Japanese due to your hobbies as well.

初めまして、KABETAと申します。幼い頃に家族と共にシンガポールに移住し、早１５年です。現在はシンガポール国立大学で経営学を学んでいます。私は少し特殊な経歴を持っており、ローカル校に通いながらシンガポールの日本語補習校にも通っていました。GCE-Oレベルでは日本語も受験しまして、A1を取得してます。

授業に関しては、日本語を中心に、英語と時には日常会話レベルの中国語を挟んで内容を理解しやすい、吸収しやすいスタンスで行います。理解できるまで臨機応変に対応します。

日本が未だに理解できないけど初めてみたい、日本語のみの授業は少しばかりハードルが高い、アニメなどを字幕無しで楽しみたい、と思う方は是非指名を。もちろん、GCE-Oレベル、JLPTなどの受験にも対応しています。
日本語の勉強だけでなく、私自身日本が大好きなので、食べ物など観光に関しては目がないです。むしろ、趣味の延長線で日本語を始めるのも素晴らしいと思います。

平日の夜など週末を中心に教えています。

I will do 1-to-1 lessons and 1-to-small groups as well. I will follow suit to the preference of the student and personalize lessons for each individual.

Japanese Teaching Approach

I would teach the students based on the needs and wants of the student, which is essentially what they want to achieve at the end of their lessons. I help beginners to understand the language starting off with simple hiragana, and then moving on to how to construct a sentence for those who want to learn Japanese overall. Similarly, for those who wants to learn conversational Japanese to use in Japan, I cover situations that you will meet in Japan and simulate a conversation to ensure that you are not only learning how to speak but to listen and make conversations with the person you are speaking with.

事前に興味を引く動画などを見て、それに沿って教える方法などを考えております。言語というのはその個人の愛称によります。ですので、相手が日本語を効率的に勉強していける方法を模索しようと考えています。

Qualifications: Nil
Experience: Taught a teenager over the span of 3 months, starting off from the hiragana to simple phrases that could be used in Japan as she wanted to visit the following year. She has successfully managed to hold a simple conversation and making orders to an employee in Japanese.

KABETA先生へ「～に関して」と「～について」の違いについて教えていただけないでしょうか?

KABETA先生’s Answer:
両方とも意味合い的には大きな違いはなく、ついての方が柔らかい表現で、「～に関して」とかは文面とか、場を考えて使う事が多いです。

「～に関して」は関するなどとも変えて使用する事ができますが、「～について」はついするみたいに変更してしようできません。

KABETA先生へ「せっかく」と「わざわざ」の違いについて教えていただけないでしょうか?

KABETA先生’s Answer:
「せっかく」は相手の誘いなど、ご厚意に反して逆に何かをする事を示します。または、よい機会だから何かをする時なでにも使用します。ついでな感覚で使います。

「わざわざ」はその為だけにと認識していいと思います。ついでではない感覚で使います。

KABETA先生へ 「のみ」と「だけ」と「きり」の違いについて説明してくれませんか?

KABETA先生’s Answer:
全て範囲を示す言葉です。「のみ」と「だけ」は大体置き換えられます。「のみ」は範囲が限られている時に使い、「だけ」は指定した範囲の時に使い、「きり」は数などの区切りに使います。

物心つく頃には海外に住んでいたので、私の中での日本文化と言えば和食になります。和食とは中華、洋食とは完全に違い、全体的に健康志向な料理ばかりでダイエットなどをしたい人たちにはピッタリです。食べる器具も箸が全般で、大抵の人たちはゆっくり噛んで食事を取る為、消化にも良くて太りにくくなります。和食は引き算を率いての調理なので、素材の味が凝縮しており、旨味成分が多く味も薄めで癖が強くないので、万人受けしやすいです。

外国人に人気なのは寿司などラーメンが多いですが、それは和食内でもジャンクに違い感じなので、授業とかを通しておひたしなど煮びたしなどのマイナーな料理についても布教したいです。
