I am Kaori. I have been living in Hong Kong for 19 years. I used to work as a flight attendant for 17 years. I am qualified as a Wine Sommelière of Japan Sommelière Association and Kids’ manner instructor of Japan OJT Manner Instructors Association in Japan. I am working as a full time housewife and looking after a 9 year old son.

I would love to teach Japanese to elementary school children and people who are interested in traveling and Japanese cultures. Hope to see you soon!

＝＝Japanese Lesson for Kids Structure＝＝
★For 2 years old to 4 years old kids★
I will focus on helping the kids to get interested in learning Japanese, listen native Japanese sound and have a fun lesson without pressure
・Focus on INPUT process of teaching Japanese by saying to the kids “konnichiwa” “arigatou” daily greeting words
・Singing the songs and help the kids to get used to the nature Japanese sound, same as the native Japanese kids learnt at kindergarten
・Reading the color books for 2 years old to 4 years old same as Japanese kids
・Using the teaching materials for Kids (such as animals or other Cartoon characters to attract the kids’ attention)
・Learning in a fun way without pressure by practicing and repeating

★For 4 years old to 5 years old kids★
I may use different teaching materials according to different kids’ characters, help the kids to get interested in learning Japanese by listening and reading Japanese books
・Focus on teaching Hiragana and Katakana sound, correcting the pronunciation, helping the kids to remember
・Self introduction in Japanese Practice
・Singing the songs same as Japanese kids learned at kindergarten
・Reading the books for 4 years old to 5 years old, and helping the kids to develop a reading Japanese color books habit
・Have a fun lesson according to the individual kids’ learning paces

★For 5 years old to 6 years old kids★
・According to the individual kid’s interests I will choose Japanese color books, songs and games during the lessons
・Focus on teaching Hiragana and Katakana writing
・Focus on daily conversation from getting up to go sleep, increase kids’ vocabularies
・Focus on OUTPUT process, and practice more interactive conversation

My Japanese lessons are designed for these kids
@ mixed Japanese kids who are attending international school, I will help to teach these mixed Japanese kids to speak accurate Japanese in Hong Kong
@ learning Japanese at primary schools, and needs help for homework or extra Japanese training courses
@ interested in learning Japanese and Japan cultural, I will teach Japanese language and Japan manner as the parents’ requests

kAORIと申します。香港在住19年です。外資系航空会社で17年間、客室乗務員をしておりました。航空会社在籍中に、日本ソムリエ協会のワインソムリエ、また、日本OJTマナーインストラクター協会のキッズマナーインストラクターの資格も取得しました。現在は、専業主婦で９歳の息子の子育てを楽しんでおります。小学生のお子様に日本語を教えるお手伝い。日本への旅行がお好きな方、日本に興味がある方への日本語レッスンのお手伝いをさせて頂きたいです。

＝＝子供向け日本語レッスン＝＝
★2〜4歳のお子さま★
耳で日本語を聞いて、親しみを持ってもらえるように、楽しいレッスンをします。
・“こんにちは” “ありがとう”などの簡単な言葉
・日本の幼児が習う歌
・2〜4歳用の絵本
・お子さまのあるトピックを用いて(例えば、動物やキャラクターなど)
・楽しくゆっくり、繰り返して学んでもらいます。

★4〜5歳のお子さま★
耳で聞き、目で見て日本語に興味を持ってもらえるよう、色々な教材を使います。
・50音を覚えて、読めるように。
・簡単な自己紹介。
・日本の幼稚園で習う歌。
・4〜5歳用の絵本。
・お子さまのペースに合わせて、楽しくレッスンします。

★5〜6歳のお子さま★
・日本語を、もっと勉強したいと思えるように、お子さまの好みに合わせた絵本や歌、ゲームなどをご用意して、レッスンを進めていきます。
・50音を覚えて、書けるように。
・朝起きてから、夜寝るまでの会話や言葉。
・楽しい会話を増やします。

どちらも、限定の意味を表します。
“だけ”は、肯定的。
“しか”は、否定的という違いがあります。
例えば、あと半分だけあります。
　　　　あと半分しかありません。

KAORI先生へ 「水を飲みたい」・「水が飲みたい」の使い分けについて、ご説明してください!

どちらも同じ意味ですが、”を”と”が”でニュアンスが
違ってきます。
水を飲みたいー飲みたいが強く提示され、
水が飲みたいー水が強く提示されます。

KAORI先生へ 「～が～てある」・「～を～てある」の使い分けについて、ご説明してください!

KAORI先生’s Answer:
例えば、傘が置いてあるー傘を強く提示され、
　　　　傘を置いてあるー置いてある、が強く提示されます。

KAORI先生’s Answer:
日本特有の文化に、”いただきます”と”ごちそうさま”と言う挨拶があります。食事を食べ始める前に、”いただきます”。食事を食べ終えた後に、”ごちそうさま”と手を合わせ、頭を下げながら言います。

“いただきます”は、敬意を表する言葉で、肉や魚、野菜などの食材全ての”命”そのものに向けた感謝の言葉とされています。また、その食材を育てたり、獲ったり、作ったりした人々への感謝の気持ちも込められています。”ごちそうさま”は昔、馬や人々が走り回って食材を集めたり、食事を用意することから、”馳走”と言う言葉が用いられた事が起源で、丁寧語の”御”と”様”がついて、”御馳走様”になりました。人々の働きに感謝して、食事の最後に使う言葉です。

Greeting Words in Japanese Itadakimasu & Gochisousama いただきます & ごちそうさま
In Japanese culture, there are greetings words such as “Itadakimasu” いただきます (means “I gratefully receive”) before savouring the delicious-looking food in front of their eyes and after filling their stomachs Japanese people thank those who prepared, cooked and served the food by saying “Gochisousama” ごちそうさま (means “thank you for the meal”) and clapping hands together and bow down.

“Itadakimasu” (いただきます) is a very polite and respectful word became the expression showing the appreciation for the food, such as meat, fish or vegetables planted, received and cooked.

Long long time ago, for the sake of providing a good meal for its guests, the host would travel long distances by horse to search for fresh and quality ingredients. In return for the enjoyable meal and putting so much effort in searching high and low for the best ingredients, the guests said to the host “Gochisousama” (ごちそうさま).
