Nice to meet you! I am Ken. I am a professional Japanese language tutor who has experience for 11 years. I have taught Japanese language in Thailand for 6 years, in Japan for 3 years, and in India for 2 years, for people with various nationalities such as Asian and European. I am originally from Kanagawa (the prefecture next to Tokyo), and I’ve also been in Tokyo for a long time. The languages which I can speak are English and easy Thai.

My policy is to provide a lesson which is simple and easy to understand. Basically, I teach with textbooks, but also teach words often used in actual conversations. My lessons also include a lot of speaking practice. I can teach all levels, from beginner to intermediate/advanced levels, in different contents such as business Japanese, and JLPT preparation. It is also possible if you want to study only conversation.

My hobbies are traveling, cooking, reading manga and watching anime. I have traveled to about 40 countries. If you want to talk about these topics, welcome!Let’s enjoy studying Japanese with me!

はじめまして！私はKenです。私は11年の経験を持つプロの日本語教師です。日本の出身は神奈川（東京の隣の県）で、東京にも長くいました。今までタイのバンコクで6年、日本で3年、インドで2年、アジア・ヨーロッパなど様々な国の方に日本語を教えて来ました。言葉は英語と簡単なタイ語を話すことができます。私のポリシーは「シンプルでわかりやすいレッスン」です。教科書を使いながら実際の会話でよく使う言葉も教えます。話す練習もたくさんします。初級から中上級、ビジネス日本語、JLPT対策まで、きちんと教えることができます。また、会話だけ勉強したい方もOKです。

私の趣味は旅行と料理、漫画・アニメです。旅行は今まで40くらいの国へ行ったことがあります。これらの話をしたい人も大歓迎です。皆さん、是非私と楽しく日本語を勉強しましょう！

1 Check new vocabularies in each chapter
2 Introduce new grammar forms
3 Practice the grammar forms
4 Practice a conversation by using the learned grammar forms
5 Do a reading practice
6 Do some exercises

If you have a special learning request, I will adjust it if possible.
For beginner students, writing and reading are not necessary, English alphabet version of textbook can be used.

I have Japanese language tutor license, that is “Japanese Language Tutor Training Course 420 hours”.
Also, I have 11 years teaching experience in total, 6 years in Thailand, 3 years in Japan, and 2 years in India, for people with various nationalities such as Asian and European.
I have conducted both classroom lessons and private lessons. My current students are working adults, university students, housewives, etc.
Basically, I teach in English or Thai. But if you would like to learn in Japanese only, I can do that as well.

KEN先生へ「～より～」と「～から～」の違いについて教えていただけないでしょうか?

KEN先生’s Answer:

どちらも大体同じ「時間」「場所」の開始点という意味で、「会議は2時よりはじまります。」と「会議は2時からはじまります。」両方大丈夫です。

ただし、次のような場合は「～より」は適切ではありません。
–限定表現（limited expression）
〇 このお店は10時からしか入れません。
✖ このお店は10時よりしか入れません。

–範囲表現（range expression）
〇 家から会社までどのくらいかかりますか。
✖ 家より会社までどのくらいかかりますか。

KEN先生へ 「もっと」と「さらに」の違いについて説明してくれませんか?

KEN先生’s Answer:

「もっと」は「今より程度が増す」という意味で、「さらに」は「今より程度が進行する」という意味です。ですから「日本の人口はもっと減るでしょう。」と「日本の人口はさらに減るでしょう。」は両方大丈夫です。
ですが、次のような場合は「さらに」だと適切ではありません。
【相手への働きかけ・希望・意向】
〇 もっとたくさん食べてください。
✖ さらにたくさん食べてください。

〇 もっとたくさん食べたいです。
✖ さらにたくさん食べたいです。

また、次のような場合は「もっと」は適切ではありません。
【接続表現】
〇 彼は頭がよくて、さらにお金持ちです。
✖ 彼は頭がよくて、もっとお金持ちです。

KEN先生へ 「たくさん」と「大勢」の違いについて説明してくれませんか?

KEN先生’s Answer:

「たくさん」は副詞で「多く」という意味で何ににもつかえますが、「大勢」も似ている意味ですがこれは「人」についてしか使えません。
【人の場合はどちらも使える】
〇 公園に人がたくさんいます。
〇 公園に人が大勢います。

【物の場合「大勢」は使えない】
〇 公園に木がたくさんあります。
✖ 公園に木が大勢あります。

日本人と宗教
日本には主に仏教と神道（しんとう）の2つの宗教があります。仏教はタイや中国などでも広く信じられている宗教ですが、神道は日本独自の宗教で、いろいろな自然の中に「八百万の神（やおよろずのかみ）」と呼ばれる様々な神様がいると信じられています。仏教の建物はお寺と言い、神道の建物は神社（じんじゃ）と言います。神社は入口に赤い鳥居があります。

日本人はよく無宗教だと言われ、実際真剣に信じている人は現代ではあまり多くありませんが、今でも日本人の文化や考え方に大きく影響を与えています。漫画やアニメ、ドラマや映画等の中にも宗教から来る文化的特色も様々なところに見られますね。
