I am HANA, a half-Japanese Japanese language tutor. I teach beginner Japanese to both adults and children in a friendly and comfortable learning environment. I can communicate fluently in English and also speak a little
Mandarin.
My lessons focus on building a strong foundation in Japanese, including basic grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and simple daily conversation. I always try to teach at each student’s own pace so beginners can enjoy learning without feeling overwhelmed.
As someone who grew up with Japanese language and culture, I also enjoy sharing simple cultural insights and natural expressions used in everyday life. Whether you are completely new to Japanese or looking to improve
your basics, I would be happy to support your learning journey.
I look forward to studying Japanese together with you!

Ask HANA Teacher Japanese Culture Questions
私が好きな日本の文化は、所作の美しさです。日本では、おじぎの仕方や物の渡し方、食事のマナーなど、日常の一つひとつに相手を思いやる気持ちが表れていると感じます。
また、丁寧な話し方や落ち着いた言葉遣いからも、人を大切にする文化が伝わってきます。そのような細やかな心配りに、日本らしい魅力と品の良さを感じています。言葉だけではなく、相手への敬意や思いやりを大切にできる人になりたいと思っています。
What I admire most about Japanese culture is the beauty of its manners and gestures. In Japan, consideration for others is reflected in everyday actions, such as the way people bow, hand objects to one another and the dining etiquette. I also feel that the culture’s respect for others can be seen through its polite manner of speaking and calm, thoughtful choice of words. These subtle acts of consideration embody a uniquely Japanese sense of elegance and refinement. I hope to become someone who values not only language, but also respect and thoughtfulness toward others.
