My name is Miyoshi, living in KL for almost 15 years. When I was a student, I went to Tianjin, China to study Mandarin. My husband is the Chinese from Ipoh, and my kids also study in SJKC, so I communicate with you in Mandarin is very easy. I love reading including Manga and Animation, also love to watch HK drama and movies. If you want to master Japanese quickly, I can teach you with using only Japanese. But about some word’s meaning or Japanese culture and their habits, I think to explain in Mandarin is very helpful to you.

我叫MIYOSHI，是日本人。住KL已经15年。我的中文是以前读大学时候在中国天津学的。 我先生是怡保人，孩子都是读华小。所以用中文是沟通完全没有问题的。 我很喜欢看书，当然包括漫画书和动漫，也喜欢看香港戏。我们上课时，当然100％用日文也可以，不过有些词语或日本人的想法生活习惯等，我可以用中文来解释给你。

I normally adjust student’s request and aim of learning Japanese.

If you want to pass the JLPT or other exam, I prepare text or exercise from past examinations, and strengthening the weekpoints.
If you want to learn conversation with Japanese , e.g. sight seeing or business, and you don’t have enough time, the role playing lesson in the scene of the common conversation or the field which the student is interested in is the most effective method, I think.

Especially I can understand Mandarin, so if you are advanced students or just want to know Japanese culture, I also can teach you the delicate difference of words or things in Mandarin or English.

Japanese Teaching Qualifications and Experiences

I don’t have any qualification in teaching Japanese but I have some interesting experience.

A student who study Japanese by himself and passed JLPT grade 3 in short time, but about grade 2, he failed many times. He and I arranged weekly class , after half a year, he passed the exam.I also prepare some paper for him, but mainly he find some Japanese articles for every class and read aloud and I help him to understand in his mother tongue.

Because I can use Mandarin, I can help my students for understanding Japanese language and culture in their similar language.
so that, I can help my students, insurance solicitor who want to get in touch with Japanese customer, Japanese animation subcontractor who frequently has meeting with Japanese, in the way they want and produce good results in short time.

After that, I was teaching Japanese to foreign students who want to go to college and university at Japanese language school for about 2 years.

Japanese Teaching Approach

If the student has a desire to understand some particular fields of Japanese culture, I let him to find some material for lessons , I don`t mind in any language, and I help him to understand this articles in Japanese.

When he is beginner for Japanese to learn a conversation in a short term, I think that role playing is very effective way. I set some situation for him, and we play and exercise conversation in Japanese.

I think that it is important to grasp the basic Japanese letter Hiragana, Katakana and reading. But from my experience, they don`t want to focus on the reading and writing in Malaysia too much , so I always seeing learning methods of students.

Japanese Teaching Style

生徒に関しては、自分で資料を探してもらい、それについて読解と解説を行います。
初心者で会話を短期間に習得したい場合は、ロールプレイングが効果的だと考えています。
会話習得が目的であっても時間的余裕がある場合には、平仮名片仮名と読み方を抑えるのが肝心だとは思いますが、マレーシア人の場合、あまり読み書きを重視しないので、生徒本人の学習方法をみながら対応していきます。

MIYOSHI先生へ「～に関して」と「～について」の違いについて教えていただけないでしょうか?

MIYOSHI先生’s Answer:
1)双方とも同じような意味ですが
「関して」は関連するから派生しているので、「～」にあたる対象物を含んでいるもの、対象物と関係のある事柄など範囲が広くなります。
related　to ~　/ 有关的 ~
「～について」は、対象が「～」そのものであり、範囲がごくごく限定的なものになります。　　　　　　
about ~ / 对 ~
2)活用　
「関して」は「関する」に活用できます。
「来年度予算に関して会議を開く」○「来年度予算に関する会議」
「ついて」は「つく」に活用できません。
「趣味について作文を書く」×「趣味につく作文」
3)「関して」のほうが硬い言い方になるので、「父に関して話す」「私の趣味に関して話す」など、個人的な分野が対象物の場合、奇妙に聞こえます。「父について話す」「私の趣味について話す」のほうが日本人には自然に聞こえます。

MIYOSHI先生へ「せっかく」と「わざわざ」の違いについて説明してくれませんか?

MIYOSHI先生’s Answer:
どちらも意図的にある行動をしたけれど、その目的を達成できなかった、という時に使いますが、
「せっかく」には積極的な意思
「わざわざ」には消極的な意思
が含まれます。
「せっかく来たのに彼はいなかった」：「彼に会いたい」という意思があって来たのに彼がいなくて残念だ。
我好不容易来见他，却他不在。
「わざわざ来たのに彼はいなかった」：「彼に会わなくてはいけない用事があってあまり来たくないのにやってきた、なのに、彼がいなくて残念だし、不満だ」
我特地来见他，他却不在。
また、「せっかく」には「せっかく」＋「の」＋「名詞」
「せっかくのお天気なのにどこにも外出しなかった」：ずーっとお天気が悪くて外出するのが不便だった。やっとお天気が良くなったのに外出しなかった。
「わざわざ」にはこの使い方はありません。

MIYOSHI先生へ「のみ」と「だけ」と「きり」の違いについて説明してくれませんか?

MIYOSHI先生’s Answer:
１）それぞれ範囲を限定したり、制限するときに使います。only, just / 只有，只是
２）「きり」は「これきり」「それきり」などごく限られた名詞につきます。単独で使われることはほぼありません。
３）「のみ」と「だけ」は入れ替えることが可能です。
例：「大人のみ入場できます」「大人だけ入場できます」
　　「だけ」は口語的なので公式文書にはあまり使われません。

日本の文化はKY（気持ちKimochiを読むYomu）文化です。

たぶん、日本語学習者の最難関は、日本人とのコミュニケーションでは「その場の雰囲気を読んで話している内容を理解する」ことが要求される事でしょう。
たとえば日本人の言う「いつでもおいでください」というのは、本当に急に訪ねてもいい、のではなくて、「事前に訪問先に予定を聞く」、その事前行動を起こすタイミングが「いつでもいい」のであって、連絡せずに尋ねるのは好まれません。

それは、「予定も聞かずに急に訪問するのが失礼」と相手を責める気持ちではなく、「会いに来てくれた人を失礼のないようにおもてなししたい、自分も相手もベストな状態で楽しみたい」という考えがあるのです。
