Hot Spring Onsen in Japan
You might hear there are lots of Hot Spring Onsen in Japan, and almost Japanese people go to Onsen for relax on the holidays. Today I am going to introduce Gero Onsen which is one of the three most famous onsen in Japan.
The city of Gero in Gifu Prefecture is located between the Hida river and mountains. It is the geographical center of Japan. The area abounds with nature. Gero Onsen is joined by two other onsens famous throughout Japan : Kusatsu Onsen in Gunma Prefecture and Arima Onsen in Hyogo Prefecture. It is a great travel destination for more than just excellent quality of the hot spring water.
Gero Onsen contain components that smoothe your skin. The excellent water quality has been well known since the Edo Period (1603-1868). The town features a public “foot bath” spot where visitors can get a feel for the hot spring water by sitting and immersing just their feet.
You can also enjoy year-round scenery,traditional festivals, local cuisine and more. Experience the tradtional culture and nature of Japan.
